The World Religions Conference (WRC) is an annual multi-faith event which brings together learned scholars from the world’s major religions, providing them an opportunity to speak on a common topic from the perspective of their respective religious traditions. For 34 years WRC has been serving as an invaluable means for bringing different religious and ethnic communities together in a manner which breeds tolerance, peace, cooperation, and understanding amongst the different religions within our society. This event is now considered as one of the largest Multi-faith events of its kind in Canada.
Radicalization of followers of faiths and philosophical traditions has become a global issue and concern for all of humanity. This year’s conference theme, “Tackling Radicalization in Faiths” will enlighten how different faith and philosophical groups tackle radicalization of the followers. The conference will further explore why radicalization is on the rise and what are the underlying causes of this phenomena.
The conference further hopes that such mutual exploration will encourage better understanding and promote a harmonious co-existence among the members of Canada's cultural mosaic.
The 35th World Religions Conference is planned with all its traditions at the River Run Centre in the City of Guelph on Sunday, November 1, 2014 at 10:00 am.
