You are cordially invited to the third World Religions Conference in Lethbridge on October 24th, between 6:00 to 9:00 PM at University Theatre, University of Lethbridge.
Religious scholars from major religions of the World, representatives of the city and the province, and members of various communities are expected to attend this Conference. Participants will have an opportunity to ask the questions during and after the conference.

Reverend Yasuo Izumi
(Representing Buddhism):
Rev. Yasuo Izumi was born in Kawasaki City of Japan in 1944. After graduating from Taisho University in Tokyo, Japan he earned a Master degree in Buddhist Study from the Institute of Buddhist Studies in Berkley, California. At present Rev. Izumi is serving in Lethbridge Buddhist Temple as minister of Buddhist Federation of Alberta.
 
Bishop Frederick Henry
(Representing Christianity):
Bishop Frederick Henry is the seventh and current Roman Catholic bishop of the diocese of Calgary in Alberta. Henry was ordained to the priesthood on May 25th, 1968. He holds an M.A. in Philosophy from the University of Notre Dame and a Licentiate in Theology from Gregorian University in Rome. In 1986 he was appointed auxiliary bishop of London and titular bishop of Carinola, Italy. In 1995 he was installed as the fifth bishop of Thunder Bay, Ontario, and on March 19th, 1998 he was installed as the seventh bishop of Calgary.
 
Naseem Mahdi – Toronto
(Representing Islam)
An inspiring presenter and scholar, Naseem is the Missionary In-charge and Senior Vice President of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama`at, Canada. Graduate of Islamic Studies, with keen interest in World religions, Naseem has served the Muslim Communities in Switzerland, Austria, Italy and Canada.
Recipient of Gov. General's Award for Community service, Chief Editor of the Ahmadiyya Gazette, a strong proponent of interfaith dialogue, each year Naseem travels across Canada participating at multi-faith events.
 
Dr. Paul Viminitz
(Representing Judaism):
Professor Paul Viminitz has BA Honours from the University of Regina, MA from Dalhousie, PhD from University of Alberta. He is a professor of Philosophy at University of Lethbridge since 1997. He specializes in Philosophy of Religions, Philosophy of war and game theory.
 
Rev. Dr. Tadashi Mitsui (Tad)
(Conference Moderator):
Rev. Tad Mitsui was born in Zumazu, Japan. He ordained into Ministry of the United Church of Canada in 1958. Dr. Tad is a retired United Church minister. He has a Master's degree from Vancouver and a doctorate degree from United Theological College at McGill.
While active, he was engaged mainly in teaching at a University in Lesotho, Southern Africa, and in church administration in Geneva (Switzerland, Toronto, and Montreal).
