Ahmadiyya Muslim Community Celebrates 100 Years of Succession and
True Proponents of Peaceful Teachings of Islam
For over 100 hundred years, the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community has been the most peaceful Muslim community in the World, explained the head of the worldwide Ahmadiyya Muslim Community.
On October 25, 2008, the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community in British Columbia is hosting a banquet at Delta Vancouver Hotel, Richmond Sea Island Ballroom, 3500 Cessna Drive, Richmond, BC V7B 1C7 to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the establishment of its institution of Khilafat (Succession), and the re-establishment of it in the Muslim world-at-large since the passing away of its Founder, Hadhrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad (1835-1908). The current Khalifa (Successor) of the worldwide Ahmadiyya Community, His Holiness Hadhrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad is fifth Khalifa of Ahmadiyya.
At the banquet, approximately 250 guests and dignitaries from across British Columbia is gathering at the Delta Vancouver Hotel. The guests and dignitaries will be representatives of all levels of government, academia, professions, ethnic communities and faith groups.
Honorable Kevin Falcon, Minister of Transportation will chair the event and keynote speaker will address introduction to the program. The mission of the Ahmadiyya Community is also to serve humanity by engaging in charitable work such as founding hospitals and schools for the poorest and neediest populations in the world. The Ahmadiyya Community is well known for its commitment to promoting and fostering constructive interfaith dialogue. In the past year, in Canada alone, the Ahmadiyya Community has hosted over 150 interfaith dialogue events.
